Charming stay with privacy perks
The warm atmosphere and helpful staff made my solo trip special. I loved the comfortable futon and felt right at home. The common areas offered perfect spots to socialize.
However, accessing the shower required a trek outside, which could be bothersome during colder weather. I wish there was better sound insulation between rooms as well.

The futon mattress provided decent comfort for a good night's sleep. This place has a unique layout with rooms outside the main building, offering a bit of seclusion that's refreshing.
Getting to this spot can be a workout, as it’s up a steep hill making hauling luggage a challenge. The air-conditioning struggled to maintain a consistent temperature during hot spells, and towels not being included is a minor annoyance. be prepared to bring your own or rent them. Some rooms require a hike outside to access shared facilities, which isn't ideal in colder weather.

Had a great time at Guesthouse Toi! Cozy vibes, super accommodating staff, and loved chilling with Rum the dog. Just a heads up, the shared dorm was a bit isolated from the showers, but totally manageable.

The guesthouse offers cozy vibes that make you feel right at home, and Rum the dog adds a unique charm to the atmosphere.
Accessing the property can be a bit challenging due to the steep hill it is located on and infrequent public transportation.

It was just an ideal choice for a brief sojourn in Hakone with value for money. I thoroughly enjoyed the homemade breakfast that kick-started my day perfectly. Bring your own towel, as they aren't provided at the guesthouse.

The friendly atmosphere makes for a warm experience, particularly highlighted by Rum, the adorable dog, who adds a special touch. Enjoying the homemade breakfast was a delightful start to each day, while the cleanliness of the facilities stood out impressively. However, accessing the property can be a workout due to the steep hill, making luggage a challenge. Additionally, the shared bathrooms’ location can be inconvenient, especially in colder weather, and the air-conditioning struggled during hot days.

Our stay was really lovely! Shun was super helpful and attentive to our questions, making the experience feel warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was fantastic, especially with Rum the dog around. It's the little touches like giving our daughter Japanese fireworks that made our visit memorable.
The onsen was too hot to enjoy.
